1. Introduction

Cool-Off: Impulse Buy Tracker (“the App”) is developed and maintained by Abhay Krishnan. Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Data Collection & Storage

The App stores all data locally on your device using an internal SQLite database. This includes:

Item names, prices, and target prices
Category names (default and custom)
Store names and product URLs you enter
Purchase decisions (bought, skipped, or waiting)
Timestamps of when items were added or resolved
Notes you add to items

No data is transmitted to any external server. The App does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, location, or device identifiers.

3. Internet Permission

The App requests the INTERNET permission solely to open product links in your device’s default browser when you tap the “View Product” button. No data is sent from the App to any server through this permission.

4. Third-Party Services & Advertising

The App may include third-party advertising in future updates. If and when ads are introduced:

The ad provider (e.g., Google AdMob) may collect device identifiers, IP addresses, and ad interaction data in accordance with their own privacy policies.
This Privacy Policy will be updated before any such integration to reflect the specific data practices of the ad provider.
Users will be notified of the change through an app update.

As of the current version, the App does not use any third-party services, analytics, or tracking tools.

5. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user data with third parties. Since all data is stored locally on your device, we have no access to it.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

All data remains on your device for as long as the App is installed. You can:

Delete individual items at any time using the delete button within the App.
Delete all data by clearing the App’s data from your device’s Settings > Apps > Cool-Off Tracker > Storage > Clear Data.
Remove all data permanently by uninstalling the App.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to address the concern.

8. Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted over the internet, the security of your data depends on your device’s own security measures (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We recommend keeping your device’s operating system up to date.

9. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR, CCPA, and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you have the right to:

Access your data (all data is visible within the App)
Delete your data (via in-app deletion or uninstalling)
Data portability is not applicable as no data leaves your device

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly when new features (such as advertising) are introduced. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
